Use a room remote to control a Room device in Microsoft Teams
Control shared meeting room devices remotely from your personal device with room remote in the Teams app. Manage a shared device’s camera and microphone, content layout, and settings without disrupting your call or meeting.Â
Note: You must be near a Windows, Android, or Surface Hub meeting room device to use this feature. Room remote isn’t supported on Mac OS devices at this time. Â
Turn room remote on or off
Room remote can be used on a Bluetooth-equipped mobile device with Microsoft Teams installed. By default, room remote should be enabled on your Microsoft Teams Room device, but if this isn’t the case, follow the steps below:Â

On the shared meeting room device, select More optionsÂ

Select Control room system.

To turn on the room remote, select Turn on room remote.

To turn off the room remote, select Turn off room remote.

This setting will only change for the duration of the meeting; once the meeting ends, room remote will be turned on again by default.Â
Connect room remoteÂ
To connect via proximity:Â

Go to your Teams calendar on your personal device and select your Teams meeting.

Under Room audio, select the shared device.

Select Join now.

Select Connect from the meeting banner. To display this banner, your device must have Bluetooth enabled.
To connect during the meeting:Â

Join the meeting from your mobile device.

Tap Participants.

Under In this meeting, find and tap your shared device.

Select Room remote.
