Upload and share files to work with others in Microsoft Teams.

Attach a file in a channel

  1. Select the channel you want to attach files in.

  2. In a channel, under a message box, select Actions and apps Actions and apps button. Select how you want to attach it:

    • Recent: Attach one of the five most recently used files. 

    • From your device: Choose a file that was created on the device you're using now.

    • Attach a cloud file: Attach a file from OneDrive or SharePoint. 

    • Browse Teams and Channels: Choose a file stored in a channel. 

    • Upload from this device: Upload files from your device.

  3. Choose a file.

  4. Add an optional message and @mention someone in your post.

  5. Select Send.

Upload a file to the Files tab

Every channel has a Files tab. You'll find everything that's been shared there.

  1. Select the channel you want to upload files in.

  2. Select the Files tab.

  3. Select Upload > Files, Folder, or Template.

  4. Choose your files.
